Photobucket is the best.
I absolutely hate Image Shack... and I do not understand why people insist on using it. It takes FOREVER to load the smallest image.
When you link someone an image on image shack, they don't just get the image, they get a link to an ad infested page that loads the image last... making the viewer have to sit there for a while looking at the ads.
Actually, Tinypic has the same problem, except it isn't as bad as image shack.
Photobucket has an excellent free service. It allows for an extremely large array of hosting space for free. I can customize my galleries with backgrounds and borders. It has a web-based image editor that isn't that bad. And I don't know who said otherwise, but Photobucket has never deleted any of the images I've put on their site in the 4 years I've had a free account. It even allows video uploads.
Another cool feature of photobucket is that it allows you to track were your images are being shown. It gives a graph depicting the websites your images are shown at and how many people view them.
The way I see it... if you're going to upload something to a specific place, why not have an account that keeps track of it all for you and allows you to view your archived images? It's free and worth it.
