It's not because your definition of a clan includes competitive gameplay on a large scale, that everyone's definition includes this. If you have a look in dictionaries, you'll see that the term clan is much wider than this. It rather refers to a "tribe".

Thats fine, I have no problem with your definition, I just want to have a discussion and agreement before the page gets edited.
