I have a laptop. And that's a good idea.
Edit:
Ok, I just tried hooking up to my laptop and it is still messed up.
There has to be something wrong with the monitor. I have one more test I want to try, but I don't have the correct cable. I'm going to try to use a DVI cable in place of the VGA cable. Maybe there is something wrong with the analog receiver... so perhaps using a digital signal might have better luck.
