I have a long standing experience with the evolution of Windows and Apple/Mac computers so I'd consider myself familiar with both.

One thing I don't understand is this whole "PC vs Mac" thing when they're really comparing Windows vs Mac Operating Systems, they are both technically a PC if they're not being used in a server environment.

Anyways, as I was saying, thanks to schools choosing Apple computers and later iMac/eMac/MacBook and so on I've been forced to experience both worlds.

Windows: Everything before XP had that annoying blue screen of death and consistently froze for absolutely no reason. Since XP, stability has never been an issue.

Apple/Mac: Everything before OS X was s o o o o o o fucking slow. Things never crashed, instead, they just froze up until you decided to quit waiting and hit the restart button. OS X seems to be a major improvement.

I previously mentioned, when people say "PC vs Mac" they don't really know what they're saying. People complain about Windows running slow, but that's because they're retards running a modern OS on old hardware... Get with the times and don't be cheap, buy hardware that supports the requirements of modern applications.
Similarly, when people buy a Mac they're also buying the hardware. Hardware that is specifically designed for OS X, so it only makes sense there won't be any slowdowns because of crappy hardware.

Features: Well, Windows has the major market share so everything is made for it. I can't really say much more, it's like comparing two programs by the amount of plugins released by 3rd party developers. Both have the basic essentials you need for word processing and surfing the web.

Security: Windows XP and prior are all very insecure because the majority of users gave themselves the highest permissions possible, aka the admin account. If you run in the basic user account it's unlikely you'll be exposing yourself to nearly many threats. Also, people usually get viruses by clicking stupid things which is their own damn fault but of course they blame the OS because they'll just too smart to fall for free smilies on some random porn website... riiight? Windows Vista solved this problem by making everyone a standard account and asking for permission whenever it's needed to do more risky things, but again, that relies on the user making smart decisions... Good luck with that.
It's my opinion that both Mac and Linux based OS's don't get many viruses because nobody cares about them. Why make a virus for them when the great majority of the market uses Windows? After all, the objective it to infect as many people as possible.

So to sum up, I agree both Windows and Mac have their strong and weak points and I'm honestly not sure which I would go with if suddenly every application I use worked with Macs.
However, I still think Macs are very overrated due to the large amount of people who don't know what they're talking about.
