i tried T1 in my apartment complex as your going to get. you speed depends on a few things. if the T1 is in line then you can pretty much ignore the rest of this as not much will interrupt the signal. however, if it isn't in line (in the telephone lines) then you may have a problem. you need to see if you can find the antenna then see how big it is. for my complex the antenna looks like a pointed 3' peice of pvc piping (we had a big one but the other tenants complained that it looked bad and the T1 company put the smaller one up.) the last thing is the line of site. if there are other apartments in the way of it (as there were for mine) then it can slow it down as microwave ovens that are in use will degrade the signal. when i got mine (which was only for 2 months before i got rid of it) i did the connection test on cnet and got about 128 kbps. i now have dsl (640/272) and at the least i test at 290 kbps.
