| No wondering why: USB only theoretically supports 60 Megabyte per sec. In real life, external HDDs connected via USB are limited to somewhat around 25-35 depending on what Chipset they are connected with.
I.e. I have an external harddrive (LC-Power case with Cypress Chipset nailed together with a Hitachi UDMA133 HDD) and this is what HDtach comes up with= ~37MB/s when connected to a VIA onboard USB and only 27MB/s on my Desktops' ATI Southbridge.
Forget about this, movies have to be recorded internally. Especially when you choose full res + high fps in Fraps.
