It's worth it for ancient motherboards such as the one in my server, but modern onboard sound cards are normally fine, and most motherboards come with like 6 Audio I/O ports you can retask, so unless you have serious professional audio needs, you'd be fine.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Onboard audio is ok, But using custom sound cards is better for bass quality, you can also push out more sound and when you have a good set of speakers probably with a subwoofer it's pwnage.
Also, yes, UK only topics for the win!
Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.
