Yes and no... Yes: it will "work" as in you can connect, but no it won't work decently. You will lag all over the place.
Your best bet is games with max 8 players. The more players, the more data needs to be sent and received and the more you'll lag.
Moreover, many servers now set a minimum bandwith because people on dialup aren't really "wanted". The reason: your data is being sent too late cause it's in a waiting cue, hence people fall down without you even being near them. So they got a script which sets your bandwith automatically to 128k, so u get too much info, so u loose connection.
Satellite couldn't have been very playable, though? Huge ping?
