I will keep her virgin as long as humanly possible.

To what end?

What do you mean to what end? Shes my baby girl, I'm not letting some sweaty little boy violate her. Once you have kids, you'll understand how I feel. Your daughter is your most prized possession in the world.

That's the creepiest thing I've ever heard. A daughter is not a possession. She's a person, and like other people, she has free will.

You're deluding yourself if you think you're going to be able to exercise absolute control over her. If she turns 16 and decideds she wants to have sex, she's going to have sex, and there's little (Read: nothing) you can do to stop her short of locking her a in a closet. If she wants to have some sweaty little boy violate her, that's her decision to make.

In any case, I fail to see how keeping her a virgin as long as humanly possible is a form of protection. Sex is the most dangerous when you know nothing about it, and in all things, the best way to learn something it to do it. I'm not saying you should encourage your daughter to go out and have as much sex as she can "for the experience", nor do I presume to tell you how to raise your children, but sooner or later, wether you like it or not, chances are your kids are going to be having sex, and it'll be a damned shame if they're clueless at 30.

That's not creepy at all. That's being a good father. If you give up on spreading your morals to your children, then you're a poor parent, and shouldn't have children. Some people DO get married BEFORE they have sex you know. I applaud MWright for the respect he has for his daughter. His concern for what she does tells me he is a good parent.
