IMO, SanDisk is a top name for MP3 players. I have a Sansa c140. I had the option of buying the next model with the built-in rechargeable battery but I hate rechargable things; I prefer only battery powered.
Anyway, the wheel is kinda of like a toy; it got a little loose and makes a slight plastic noise when used but I get awesome sound quality. It's a no-hassle player. Not that I am recommending it, it's old.
But yeah, SanDisk FTW! They got a range of good players.
