Spot on. The root of the problem lies at religion and it's false concepts made up by our uneducated ancestors.

What I find ridiculous is the concept of the soul. And I would like to hear a logical explanation for it from it's proponents.

There is no evidence to say Christianity can't exist. Evolution? Microevolution has absolutely no counterpoint in the Bible. The Time - God created the earth in 7 Days? Who's to say what a day is to God?

You see, the difference I've observed between Christianity and Atheism is that we admit when we don't know why something is the way it is, Instead of pretending like we do. Everything is secondhand, so it leaves some room for obscurity. You have absolutely no idea what happens when you die, and yet you people preach as though you do. The beginning to wisdom is knowing when to say: "I don't know."

Christians believe in heaven, but what is heaven like? I sure don't. The only answer is that you know when you get there, as well as it's opposite. I've heard stories from preachers, but they really don't know either. They haven't died yet.

As far as a soul goes, there could be several explanations:
I was created as a result of my parents - My mother and father. My brother was created as a result of my parents - My mother and father.
It's true that I only share 50% of the same genetic structure that makes up my genome with my brother, but I have a very different thought process, morality build-up, likes/dislikes, and several other non-physical features from him. These are also different from my mother and father, the ones that created me, and they both together contain 100% of the genetic structure I have. While these things hardly make up a soul in its completed form, I'm merely coming up with possibilities for discussion as truly: I have no idea what a soul is. I know that I believe I have one though. Wink
