If worst comes to worst...I have been thinking it over today and I know how to write a PunkBuster type mod. I really, really hope it doesn't come to something like this. I do however have mapped out in my head how to make a client/server mod that will:

1. Only allow people with the PB client to play on the server
2. Players game files are integrity checked upon join and every 60 seconds *
3. Automatic kicking of players with detected cheats.

* This is due to the fact that Renegade periodically scans the data directory for files (all local files are used before ones in always.dat), so if you only check upon login they can still alt-tab and install clickbot skins etc.

I really don't think it will be necessary unless a 100% working aimbot comes out. I don't fear the clickbots and clear sniper scope mods. I also do not fear the "OGC Hook" bot because Renegade doesn't use OpenGL, and unlike the BS that doomsayers would have you believe, you cannot just "make a few simple changes" to existing OGC and have it work on Renegade.

Like I said, if worst comes to worst, I will make BR-P (BlazeRegulator Pro/Punkbuster).
