I get a similar error to Redxtremist.
I'm on winxp with a fresh renegade install, 1.037 patch, then renguard 1.3 which updates and then won't start.
renguard 1.0323 error code 00000057
Any help would be appreciated (tried un-installing renguard, tried the direct 1.0323 installation [but it doesn't appear to automatically start]).

Just an update, I did a fresh install of renegade, 1.037 patch, rengard 1.30, and it updates fine. Then like always, I try to click the usual icon and get the error above (00057).
Just by dumb luck - I decide to go to my directory, and I click the game.exe instead of the existing renegade.exe and hey presto - renguard now seems to be loading.
Well it's d/l the core patches at least...
