Heh, it's not that hard to understand (but then we use the British spelling of things as well, so that could be why)

Most definately "olde English".

Hmm.. this is really off topic, but I noticed something:

Chaucer: "How that a frere ravyshed was to helle "

"Common" English: "How a ravished friar went to hell"

Use of English on the internet thesedays: "How that a frere ravyshed was to helle !!!111 "
