When you turn on your computer, the components heat up and connections "shrink" slightly. When you turn it off, those connections cool and expand again. It shouldn't be surprising that the memory or another coponent moves out of its slot even a little bit due to that, causing problems like this. It's happened to me a couple of times; reseating things usually fixes it.
