The mistakes in the original Renegade are clear. Bad netcode, no support, poor singleplayer, no advertisement, and it was rushed.

No support because EA shut Westwood down.
Rushed because EA was going to shut them down.
Bad netcode, they may have made a patch for this but once more EA shut Westwood down.

I guess my point is that if EA had not shut Westwood down we would not have these problems. Or we would have Renegade 2.
