If the problem is when it's fetching servers it may be the same problem I had. However first make sure your firewall isn't blocking internet access to game2.exe. Turning it off will find this problem out. If the problem persists it even though your firewall is off it may mean you may need to forward ports. You need to make sure the following ports are open.

TCP Ports
3840, 4005, 4808, 4810, 4995, 7000-7002
UDP Ports
1234-1237

Now if you need to know how to foward ports view this: http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/r outerindex.htm (If your using a firewall such as Windows firewall viewing this page is pointless. If you firewall is not on that list don't bother. If it is, select it then select the game C&C Renegade and you will be given step by step instructions)

Now there is a possibility you don't have to do any of that. Are you having problems connecting to anything else? If you own any other C&C games, such as Red Alert 2, try playing it. Go online and see if you get stuck when it's looking for servers. You may need this: http://xwis.net/downloads/XWISC.exe

If your problem looks like mine here: http://strike-team.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=87067 then download that to fix it.
