Well I thought I’d throw my 2 cents in. As I posted before I am a Christian, I believe in God, Christ & the Holy Ghost. I believe in the Holly Trinity. I believe that Christ died on the cross for me and has forgiven me of my sins. I have absolutely no doubts in my beliefs. I believe this way to the very core of my soul that these things are the truth.

With that said I’m probably going to piss off more religious types than any other group with this post. I use religion loosely because not everyone who is religious believes in God. Sure they tell you they do; they go to church each week, sing the songs, listen to the preacher, pay their tithes or whatever they can spare, then they leave feeling they did their weekly duty of going to church. They said hi to their friends and associates at church that they see each week. Everyone knows “hey I went to church today” I did my weekly church visit. I’m doing what every good religious person does.

*Let me stand and give you a round of applause*

The other 6 and half days of the week you would never know you where a religious type. You know the worst group to give a tip in a restaurant is someone who goes to church and the worst day of the 7 is Sunday. Sorry gave at the church did my duty for the week. For two hours on Sunday you’re doing the religious walk, maybe more for you hardcore types. You cuss at others on the road, you drink, you lie, you do what you need to get by in this life just as long as those in your church peer group never see the real you. All is good in your world. Your convinced heaven is awaiting you because you do your duty of showing up once a week. Some of you show up twice a year, some just on Easter or Christmas. I bet most of you can’t even remember what the service was you attendant on Sunday were even about or the songs you sang.

On the news are death and destruction and killing in the name of God. Everywhere your turn there are people doing things in the name of God that is appalling. We were attacked on 9-11 in the name of God. The KKK marches on the streets in the name of God. Television fills our minds with story after story of blood shed in the name of God. All kinds of atrocities happen in this world because of religious zealots. Kids abused by religious types we are supposed to trust. You get my drift.

I am not your cookie cutter Christian. I don’t believe in order for my soul to be saved I have to put on a show for you and come to church each week. God loves you for you so stop being fake. Be throughout the week then same person when you’re in church. If you’re not the goody to shoes you pretend to be a church then knock it off. You want those who don’t believe in God to listen to anything you have to say, and then be yourself. Don’t go around trying to impress your friends and neighbors that you’re some kind of a saint when your really not.

And above all stop trying to ram scripture down someone’s throat. If you want to convince someone that there is a God your going about it all wrong. Telling them that if they don’t believe they are going to hell so you better believe is a sure way for them to tune you out next time you open your mouth. Got news for ya, if you only believe in God because your afraid of hell, get the asbestos suite ready because that’s where you’re headed. And stop with trying to beat someone upside the head with your Bible. You’re only giving them a headache and next time they see you they will just avoid another headache.

So now you have someone who doesn’t believe in God and you’re trying to convince them otherwise. Well with all the news about killing in the name of God, fake people doing their weekly duty, kids being raped, and on and on and on. What do you expect them to believe? Why would they believe?

In order to make them believe there is a God you need to make them see the failing of their own belief system and they have to want to seek the truth for them. It’s a personal decision, it’s not a group thing, and I don’t need to see a preacher or pray to any idols. It’s personal, pure and simple.

If I pissed any of your religious types off then maybe you needed to read this.
