if you want to forward ports for an application, then this is how it works:
Say you're using Azureus to download torrents, and you need to forward the port 14652 (this is totally an example). What you do is put 14652 in the start AND end boxes, and then find out your computer's network IP (not internet IP) and put it in as the IP you're forwarding the port to. Then you usually would select both in the drop-down menu that says "TCP". That's how it works. You can put in an application name if you want, but it makes no difference except to keep track of what you've forwarded.
