I just got a new dell laptop as my christmas/birthday present, i ahve no clue about the specs of the computer ram, OS, video card, graphics card, etc. Im wondering does anyone know where on my computer i can check out all of these, i want to see if my laptop will be able to handle renegade or red alert 2. It would also be nice just to know all of these.

Your Operating System can be checked by right-clicking on "My Computer" and selecting "Properties", and going to the "General" tab (which should come up by default). I'm not sure about other operating systems (eg, Windows 9x, Windows 2000, etc), but for Windows XP, your processor type, speed, and amount of RAM is also listed there.

"Video card" and "graphics card" generally means the exact same thing, by the way. To check it under Windows XP, right-click on "My Computer", select "Properties", select the "Hardware" tab, and click on the "Device Manager" button. From there, you should see a number of things. Click on the "View" menu, and select "Devices by type". Then, in the list below, look for an item named "Display adapters" (it should be near the top, it appears that the list is sorted alphabetically), and click on the 'x' box to the left of it to expand it. Your GPU (graphics card / video card / whatever you want to call it) type(s) will be listed below it. For example, I have a "RADEON X800 Series", as well as a "RADEON X800 Series - Secondary", since my GPU can handle two monitors at once.

In any case, assuming that your laptop is indeed new (rather than new for you, but it was sold as used), then it most likely can handle Renegade and Red Alert 2.
