My answer? Yes.

People do not naturally "step outside the box" and "think critically". This gives them a false sense of reality. One examples of this can be seen in this topic.

Every human on this entire planet is an animal. Every animal has its primary instincts which includes self-preservation and procreation of its own kind. Racism is not a new topic as it has been around ever since our history has been documented. Humans group together by simliar beliefs, customs, agendas, etc to form a society - and those societies carry with them a summarizing sentiment towards people outside of their group.

For some, it is extreme - such as in eastern Europe, the middle east, or on the African continent where "ethnic cleansing" takes place almost every day. It is a dominance issue. It is a primitive response to an environment. For others, it is more subtle ... such as in the United States (as this example portrays) where political correctness and "racial security" is implemented right into the social system. People have to exercise their "free speech" to get their beliefs off their chest.

I would definitley argue that to some degree, every single person is racist/discriminant/prejudicial to some degree. The more appropriate question is: "How strong is this feeling?".

Another point I would like to make is that the general HEARD sentiment right now is that "Whites" discriminate against "Blacks" (which seems to be the hot topic). Yet if you look a little bit deeper ... below the underlying issues ... you would realize that more "whites" are discriminated and affected by discrimination than "blacks" and that the problem is only getting worse as "whites" lose their majority in society numerically and become the minority.

I definitely see some sort of major internal social conflict for the United States some time in the next 20 years. Any society that is a "Melting Pot" is going to repeat a cycle such as this whether they like it or not.
