First you need to download Gmax from discreet...
You can get it here: Click Me!!!
Click the "Download Now" link on the left, and scroll down and click the first link (gmax 1.2 installer)
Next you need to download the Renegade Tools Installer...

First you have to install and run Gmax. It gives you a little pop up, you have to register Gmax before you can use it (doesn't cost anything). Follow the link.
Once registered you can use Gmax...
Install the renegade mod tools, and run Renx.
You make your terrain in Renx, and add the settings and building controls and stuff like that in Level Edit.
