Well, since this has turned into a Civ. discussion.

Civ 3 as the Romans (Scientific, Reigious). I have never been anything less that 1st in the technology department, and ALWAYS manage a cultural victory before the time is up. (conquoring nearby cities through passive means is always fun, and highly annoying to the other player Big Grin

)

Hint: when you are a "few" turns away from completing the Theory of Evolution (2 free technologies),("few" meaning when the number of turns you need to complete your next technology is MORE than the number of turns before the Wonder is completed) turn your science funding to nothing and pump it into tax for a quick cash boost. Or, pump it into luxuries and watch the "We love the *** day" pop up in virtually every city. Remember to reset everything after it's built.
