Being a linux person, It's good to see someone trying to play Renegade on Linux. To be honest, I havn't tried Cedega since the days when it was called WineX. I just did some reading and it seems to have come a long way since the last time I used it, however I did read about specific problems it has particularly when a game or application has an embedded IE window (which RenGuard has).

That being said, it may not work under Cedega until Cedega gets a fix for that particular problem. I would be interested to know if Cedega runs Renegade itself (without RenGuard) fine or not. If you have the ability to test it (try running 'cedega game2.exe') and report back that would be cool.
