The clan and name systems on WOL are a bit tempremental (you can blame EA for that), but I would suggest go and make a new email (such as a free yahoo one) and use that to register a new nickname.

By the way, why would you want to change ur birthday info? It dont affect gameplay and you can logon and use the nickname even if the email is invalid.
