So it goes that last night I graduated high school and was consequently partying most of the night.
Anyways, I got home and the next morning noticed that 2 computers in my basement had been stolen and the whole area ransacked. What a graduation present, eh?
They evidently got in through our basement backdoor which (unknowlingly) happened to be unlocked.
Well thankfully both computers in the basement would be considered the slowest performers in the house. One was mine and the other my sister's. Mine had a 1.7Ghz Celeron with 40gb HDD, 512mb DDR, 17 inch Hewlett flatpanel, optical mouse, keyboard. The other was around 1ghz with junk video card and 19 inch flatpanel viewsonic monitor, keyboard, mouse, used only for chatting and surfing.
So what I was wondering, is anyone here aware of any way to possibly track these computers should they be hooked up to the internet? I know their IPs and can post them once I find the paper that has them written down.
I'll also be scouting the local pawn shops over the next few days to see if I can locate them and hopefully find out who pawned them.
Thanks for any help.
