First off, the Core Patch is provided by Blackhand Studios, who also makes RenGuard, and RenGuard is used at a delivery method for the patch, but it is not a patch of RenGuard itself, and does NOT affect whether or not RenGuard works.
Beyond that, please make sure your Renegade is updated to the latest version (1.037) before installing either RenGuard or the Core Patch.
