are you using a no-cd crack?
If not, try downloading and using one (the copy protection might be interfering with bhs.dll/scripts.dll, I havent heard of it happening before but it could happen)

Also, that windows XP, which service pack is it? None? Service Pack 1? Service Pack 2?
