All the Renegade players out their saying that Blackhand studios are the Godfathers of Renegade, just because they created a anti-cheat program, thats messed up. Yeas, they did an outstanding job with Renguard, but they will never be the Godfathers of Renegade nor the "owners" as some people say.

Taking that into consideration, a godfather (or god parent) is someone who will take care of you and support you through your life. I've always been led to believe that if anything were to happen to your real parents, the godparent(s) would then take care of you.
When they say "Godfathers of renegade" they don't mean anything like they are the GODS of renegade, or anything like the mafia boss reputation at all. They're mearly calling them the surrogate parents of a game that was left with no support.
In this case, EA/Westwood were the real parents of the game, who appear to have abandoned the community (whether it's their choice or not), leaving it with little-to-no support. Blackhand Studios (the godparents) stepped in to take care of us. This is exactly what they are doing, they have links into some of the EA/Westwood employees, and are providing the support that is not being provided from EA.
It's that simple.
