Something to note when you talk about nuclear yeilds:
They can make a nuke the size of a medium caliber bullet with a yeild measured in tons or fractions of tons.
You cannot compare fission devices and fusion devices, it's like comparing apples and walnuts. The only way to compare them is by their exposive yeild. So a fusion bomb of similar yield to a fission bomb will be significantly smaller in physical size.
A "cheap" way to generate the heat and pressures required for a fusion bomb is to include a fission device in the design.
There was a time when people were impressed that I have the firepower to decimate a planet in under 10 minutes.
