	| | spreegem | | I found a 1952 Military Jeep M170 Complete Rolling Frame and Body for $500 in the local newpaper today. Would $500 be a good bargain for it, I need to go check it out and see what kind of condition it's in and all but if it's in good condition would that be a good deal? I'll be putting a deisel(Spelling?) engine into it anyways so I don't care that it won't have an engine.

if you don't know if it is a good deal or not, i wouldn't buy it, most importantly, if you aren't sure of the spelling of the type of engine, i wouldn't buy it again.

buying something like this is a pet project that you sink your hands into, if you want a play jeep to build, don't start with something that could be a potential money pit, get a 70's CJ5 or something, you can always pick those up for $500-$1000 running in just about any state in the U.S.

They are easier to understand, parts are a lot less expensive, and are hard as hell to actually break, then you can get a good feel for how jeeps are put together, how the engine etc... works, then you can start playing around with them.

Plus... good luck finding engine mounting brackets or a tranny that will fit that frame and that engine.
