Do you have any anti-virus software enabled? Some utilities block RenGuard because it scans your memory and things.

Also, Norton Internet Utilities seems to always interfere with RenGuard, make sure you disable this when you startup RenGuard.

Check if your firewall doesnt block RenGuard from connecting to the network.
