One problem when trying to balance liberty and equality is that if anyone feels they are not equal, they will go to extremes to give themselves a better cut. Ironically, the group that feels it was not equal winds up taking away from the group that was on top to begin with.

Liberty over equality, always. Perfect equality never works on a large scale. Better to let people look out for themselves and make their own opportunities than have the government dictate what people can and can't do in the interests of making everyone equal.

"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived of the use of them." - Thomas Paine

Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.
