Assuming there is only one society in the world: it depends on the perspective.

Looking at it from an individual's standpoint, liberty > equality. Equality doesn't do anything "directly" for the individual. If anything, equality directly takes away from most individuals.

But looking at it from the perspective of the society, equality > liberty. Society as a whole is more stable when people within the society have rules they must live by.

As an "individual", I'd lean more toward liberty. But as a citizen, equality is equally as important. So unless there is a middle ground, I'm not voting.
