You have to understand: with a Republican in office, you HAVE to expect the left to criticize everything he will do. If it were a Democrat in office, the positions would be completely switched and nothing would be any different save the people who are labelled "cynical".

Couldn't have said it better myself- wait, I HAVE said it myself. Some people just can't accept that sometimes both sides are just as screwed up.

I was absolutely 100% pro war- I still am. However, I dislike how it has been handled- more specifically, I think the media has been allowed to report on stories that, frankly, should not be common knowledge. It has been my opinion for some time that the war would be going a lot more smoothly if reporters were told from the start that they were not permitted to report on certain events, persons, or places. For example, allowing a reporter to travel along with troops going into battle- live on international television the whole time. There are some things in this war that I feel I and every other US civilian should not have known about.

Continuing on the media thing, I disagree with how war reports are handled. Every time there are casualties, all the major networks gobble it up, stamp out a flashy title, and report it as "the worst attack since(insert date here)." Reports like that can, and do, give people false impressions about what is really going on over there- from the way the war is reported, nobody would even know it if we're winning. Hell, even the victories are reported as if they were failures- "US forces bombed (insert location here), locals are protesting." Nevermind the cache of weapons, or insurgent hideout, or whatever that the attack was directed at; positive reports don't get ratings.

That's what I think is fucking up this country. Free press is wonderful, but I think the media is mistaking free press for absolute power to do whatever the fuck they want. National security and the right to privacy are taking a backseat to ratings.

However i do understand that you must have democrats and republics for there to be a democracy, and we need both.

Wrong. The last thing this country needs are more people who believe there are only two sides to an issue.

"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived of the use of them." - Thomas Paine

Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.
