Being a tech/Hotwire can somtimes mean that you have to stay back at the base, DON'T think that because of this you are letting your team down. On the contrary you may be the only one who is keeping your base running. Also be patient, I'v been in a game where our GDI weapons factory had been deystroyed and our defence consisted of a mammoth tank and two light tanks, I was a hotwire along with a couple of engies and we kept the tanks in top health.
However after a while the engies decided they would **** off to the NOD base leaving me alone to keep the tanks from being blown to hell. It went well untill a NOD guy managed to get into the base and start attacking our tiberian ref, I had to leave the tanks to save it and while I was away the tanks were deystroyed.
Now if the some engies had stayed, the tanks could have survived and we might have not lost the game
