Recruit

When I play I get message:

Server was shut down. and a voice "Tough Guy"

I have renguard installed and have no textures or whatever?

No idea..
Did u try (in this order):

- Uninstall RenGuard
- Uninstall Renegade
- Delete Renegade Directory manually via explorer
(So that no old files persist)
- Reinstall Renegade
- Update to v.1037
- Reinstall RenGuard.

When it says the server was shut down, and you hear Havoc say "real tough guy," that means that--gasp--the server was shut down. If you don't have textures, you should reinstall Renegade. Neither of the things you mentioned have anything to do with RenGuard.
