Eh, it's far easier to hillcamp with an mlrs than an arty, this move would benefit NOD not GDI.
|
Not the case, since Nod arties can kill the PP, WF and refinery, whereas an MRLS can only hit the Ref, which isn't a terrible loss on Hourglass unless it happens in the first few minutes

The infantry ramps ARE the visible vehicle blockers in Mesa. That's why they are there. The ramp isn't made for vehicles... it's made for infantry... If they were to put something else there, it would defeat the purpose of putting it there in the first place because then infantry wouldn't be able to get past it either. Vehicles were not meant to be driven over them.

Still, there IS a ramp there. And believe it or not, vehicles can drive uphill.
A more logical solution (though not as simple to implement) would be to replace the ramp with stairs that infantry can jump up. Then infantry can still pass freely and vehicles will very obviously be unable to pass.
Personally though, I see no need to do this. It's easy enough to defend against wall jumping. No need to disallow it...

You're right. There is a ramp there. That doesn't mean you have to drive on it. You do know that not all ramps are made for driving vehicles on right? I have yet to see some idiot haul off and try to drive his vehicle up a wheelchair ramp. If it were meant to be driven on, they would have made it a size where that was obvious. Oh my god. You mean to tell me that the reason it is only wide enough for infantry is because... gasp... it's for INFANTRY!?!?!

There are already walls like that all over the place blocking off infantry-only areas (e.g. tunnels). So maybe if the ramp were NOT meant to be driven on, it would have an invisible wall at the top. How do any of you know for sure what Westwood's intent was?
The fact of the matter is that vehicles CAN drive over the walls. And I really don't see why you're getting all pissy with me, because I was being helpful. Converting the ramp to stairs would fix the "problem" without adding a potentially annoying invisible wall.

Also, some servers (Gamerz0ne AOW at last check) explicitly allow hillcamping on Hourglass.
