What program do I have to use? Notepad makes it weird.. like :

WTF does THAT have to do with LE -_-'
Edit: I can't find the building names like Hand of Nod or vehicle names when I use Strings > Edit Table.

Edit: I can't find the building names like Hand of Nod or vehicle names when I use Strings > Edit Table.

It seems to me you can only change the texts who display when the building is attacked.. you can't rename the building itself.. atleast it seems so. But I wntn to change the building name in the game to something else..

I don't get what you mean..
I mean like.. when you are playing in Field and you aim at the Hand of Nod you see another name like The Hand of
I don't want it for a whole different map but for the excisting ones..

Go to Buildings > (building) and put in that file in the building folder and put it into the map. Just putting in the building model in gmax is half of it. the building controller is needed in the map. just put teh controller near the building and in the properties there you can edit the name.

First of all.. my export funstion isn't working because it says I haven't got Excel installed. Second, I cab't find anything that's named Hand of Nod anywhere when I use LE, and the strings editor table. Third, when I use Notepad I can only find things like "Warning - Hand of Nod is under attack"
Or "Infiltrator in the Hand of Nod" but those are text messages. I can't find the name of the Hand of Nod itself. There's nothing like (exmaple) ID_NAMEHANDOFNOD: Hand of Nod. Or something like that -_-

No, you guys aren't really helping me that's my problem. I ask a simple question, and I give the errors I encounter when I try to follow the advice you guys give. Yet you aren't helping me with the errors nor the thing I'm asking for.

1. Edit the stuff you want in the LevelEdit strings editor.
2.When you're done editing, hit Ok.
3. Go to your mod folder and Always>TranslationDB
4. Copy the strings.tdb file to Renegade's Data folder.
Done!

Ok, I'll try that. Is there btw some kind of 'search' function in LE so you can search through the strings, instead of searching all the sentences for something?
