You realize that almost no one in that party knows what side of various issues, and the ones that do don't dare speak about them because they would be seen for the communist(insert-radical-anti-human-political bent here) that they are.
On topic, Fire Ants are bad. Best thing to do is pour a gallon of diesel fuel in the hill and let it soak for a couple of hours, then burn the bastards. Gas won't do it because it evaporates too quickly. There are also various poisons available, Amdro being the best. If it's really bad(a dozen hills or more) call an exterminator as you're in over your head with a super-colony.
There was a time when people were impressed that I have the firepower to decimate a planet in under 10 minutes.

Ha the good old Daddy Long legs, the most poisonous animal on the planet, a single one contains enough poison to kill several fully grown men, thank fuck their jaws are too small to bite us otherwise human kind would no longer exist.

BTW, you should never squish an ant... when they die they secrete a "help me" pheromone, that, when detected by the colony, results in an increased response.

djlaptop | You can get rid of ants with cinnamon. They hate the stuff. It interferes with their ability to secrete/detect pheromones, which is how they communicate.
I drove a whole colony out of my bathroom without killing a single one using cinnamon.

Very interesting. I will have to try that.
Thank you on behalf of my ever-frightful wife.

Fire Ants are nothing compared to Austrialian Bull-Dog ants, these things love to fight, you will be just sitting and eating a sandwich and bulldog ant will come and bit your ass, it will fight you also if you try to fling it away with your hands.

Or you could just get an anteater for a pet and pump it full of anti-venom.
Then it'll kill all the ants for you.
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)
"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)
