While he may not have been a great president, he was our president, and may he rest in peace.
"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)
"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

So because he died I have to say something that I don't believe to be true? I have great respect for any President, and again, I wish he rest in peace. [Funny only the "liberal jackass" said something along these lines.] I just didn't necessarily agree with his policies.

Cool, you met Ronald Reagan?
Also, the Soviet Union collapsing in on itself because communism doesn't really worked help end the Cold War, but Reagan putting pressure on them did contribute to the Soviet Union's downfall.

Sorry, but I'm fucking pissed at the sheer idiocy. Anyone who disgraces the honor of someone who has died is a miserable excuse for a human being. Unless of course that person killed others.
I'm the bawss.

"Disgracing the honor"
Exaggerating is an art, too.
RIP Reagan, if you're 93 and have Alzheimer than I think it's better for him to pass away than to live on.

J_ball | How dare you say that he was not a great president?
|
Freedom of speech, BIATCH!
J_ball | You wouldn't want someone to go, "He was an idiot, but may he rest in peace." when you die
|
Actually, I personally don't give a damn what someone else thinks of me once I'm dead.
J_ball | He was a brilliant mind
|
Even though he started suffering from the effects of Alzheimers in his second term...
J_ball | if the moronic republicans of the 50s wouldn't have passed the law saying a president can't be in office for more than 2 terms Reagan could very well have won another term.
|
Just like every other president who has been elected for two terms.

Even though it never really affected his thinking. My mom relayed this info to me. An advisor or something for Reagan gave him a 10 point list for his speech he was about to give and in ten minutes, Reagan encorporated those points into his speech without using the paper. Yeah, he wasn't brilliant...
whoa.
