I used to run Cross Country, long distance. I ran a few half marathons when I was in my prime, about 2 years ago (before my knees went bad). This one time I was training for an upcoming race and for some reason this hornet started following me. I couldn't really outrun it, but with me moving pretty fast, and brushing it off when it tried to land, I managed to keep it from stinging me. It was 4 miles to my house from where I was in the forest, and that hornet followed me the whole way home. I managed to shut it out when I came inside, but damn, it was pretty scary.

Yeah thats why I don't like those damn things...as long as you keep moving they keep coming for you. Pretty much the only way to escape is to either outrun them, or run into a dark area. I got attacked by some pissed off honeybees which chased me a few hundred yards until I ran into a dark storage room. I got stung so many times that I got enough venom to get a high fever and vomit several times. I was wearing black sweatpants at the time, and bees see in UV so they go for black, so most of the stings were from the waist down Sad

Poor guy, I got attacked by two hornets once. We got a lot of those fuckers in Colombia, I went there for vacations and that was the little welcome they had planned. I had 3 stings in my arm before I got my shoe off and killed the fuckers, and that's a lot of pain to take. I can't imagine what's it like to be owned by a whole army of those fuckers.

When RG identifies a cheater, get the IP, find the GPS co-ordinates and launch a hornet bomb at them. Razz That'll keep them away. Razz

The best way to deal with hornets is to run away from them then spin around real fast and slug em in the face. Hornets may be 5 times bigger than bees, but fists are 5 times bigger than hornets.

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

I read a topic about this a few years back. The european bees only know to go one at a time against the hornets, bad mistake. The japaneese bee on the other hand knows how to deal with them. Not by stinging them to death, but by swarming them and flapping their wings to generate heat to cus the hornet's body temp to rise and kill it. That's how they deal with the hornets. It would be interesting to see the hornets go after the killer bees and watch them fight. Killer bees are bigger and more mean then the average bee. Would be interesting to see this fight. This was the japeneese hornet thou, not sure if the U.S version is as aggressive.
