we moved our server + brenbot to a linux server, but brenbot does everything very slow in irc, the !gi command takes about a half minute to complete, also it sometimes kicks people for teamswitching while they actually evened the teams, does this have anything to do with the wrapper program for the renmem ??, or is it something else.

Im running brenbot/server under LFDS and it works like a clock, no problems at all.
What irc server you running the bot on?

Server is running debian 2.4, its not supported but the server works fully except that brenbots slow.
specs are:
256 mb RAM
AMD Duron 1600
and will soon be upgraded to 512 ram, it should be enough to run a 20 player server.

If you put it that way, yeah the bot is sometimes very slow connecting to the irc server, like n00bstories (read SOMETIMES). A few times it wont even connect to it. You have to shut the bot down and connect again and usally that works direct, takes like 5 secs.
But when the bot joins the channel its very fast on the commands.
Your computer specs are abit to low, how much memory do you have used up? do you run any other servers/services on the same computer?
This is what my server is built of:
Operating system: SuSE 9.1 with Kernel 2.6.4
CPU: Intel® Pentium IV® 3.0GHz 800Mhz FSB 1024KB cache
RAM: 3x512MB of DDR400 RAM CL 2.5
Harddisk: 36GB Fujitsu U320 SCSI 15000 RPM 8MB
Graphics: ATI RAGE XL SVGA PCI video controller 8MB (On-Board)
Network Adapter: Intel® PRO/100+ Server Network Connection (On-Board)
Motherboard: Intel® Entry Server Board SE7210TP1-E
Internet connection: 10Mbit Full-duplex ethernet LAN connection

i've tried that, no diffrence, other windows brenbots run fine on the irc server..., i think you were right about the spe's, mabey il try to reinstall it see if that works, thnks.
