This may seem like a dumb question, but I was wondering if anyone knew if the C&C vehicles were actually based off of any real vehicles, or if the stats for them were just made up. I think that they're made up with no real base on any true military vehicles.

Most aren't.

Med Tank is.
Apache is.
MRLS? I don't know how close to a real one the Renegade MRLS is, but yea, i'd say it is based off a real vehicle.

Not sure what else.

NOT SURE ABOUT
Mammoth Tank - I am 80% sure it is roughly based on real life, i rember seeing a picture on CNN of a HUGE tank far larger than a Abrams in Isreial, back resembled it, just did'nt get a really great look at front but it did look like it.

Now here is a brain stumper, is Tiberium based on real life substance?? I was taking a test a few weeks ago with the periodic table of elements and a few of them's names were really close to Tiberium.

You forgot the Attack cycle, that tank you saw was most probably a Challenger or a Challenger II, they're the only tanks I know of that can make an abrahms look small. I doubt the mamoth was based on the Challengers though, for a start they only have one barrel and no missile systems, that and the fact they could take on a whole bunch of mammoths with ease, you kinda need a cruise missile just to slow one down.

Mammoth tank isn't.
It has 2 barrels...

No, Tiberium isn't real. No such substance.

And in TD one of the in between mission videos shows an analysis of it. They mention the elements it's made of, so it wouldn't be logical to say this it was an element itself.

Tiberian Dawn:

Light Tank = M2A2 Bradley IFV

I'm still pretty sure that Westwood designated the Light Tank "M2-F" when Tiberian Dawn was first released. The M2A2 doesn't have a 75mm cannon.

Cowmisfit, maybe you're thinking about the Soviet IS-3 heavy tank. The Israelis captured some of them from the Egyptians and used them in their own armed forces during the 70's. The Apocalypse Tank from Red Alert 2 is very similar to the IS-3.

The cutscenes show a 25mm cannon on the Bradleys. They're M2A2s, and so are the purchase icons.

The original purchase icon from C&C DOS doesn't look like a regular M2A2.
http://home.nordnet.fr/~lkokot/cwutils/units/ltank.gif

The Bradleys in the cutscenes are used by both GDI and Nod, and are seen to transport troops, so they aren't necessarily the same as the Nod Light Tank. Perhaps both factions use the Bradley IFVs, but only Nod uses a version of the Bradley as a light tank.

It looks like they took the idea for tiberium from kryptonite... Both originated from meteorites, both are green, both are poisonous, both have several different variations... The only real difference is that tiberium can spread and grow.

I belive there was a flame tank in WW2 but it was never deployed.

It was used in WW2...

Tiberium seems more like a plant or weed.

Doesn't matter what it says, it looks exactly like an M2A2. That small, pixelated icon doesn't change the actual C&C 95 icon or the multiple cutscene images.

What's your point? There is no 70mm or 75mm cannon on those images, they're all 25mm Bushmaster chain guns.

Post the Artillery image and description if you would.

Though that doesn't have the support platform that holds the barrel.
