Did you installed them properly?

http://dynamic6.gamespy.com/~renalert/index.php?page=downloads_patches
First you download 991, then 9915, then 992 and finally 9925.

By the way, they have a forum you know:
http://dynamic6.gamespy.com/~renalert/forum/

By the way, when patches get installed the installation might get slow or even stop, don't worry about that... Just don't close the installation window.

Very Happy

I suck cock and love it... absolutely love it. And I just got banned for being too immature to be allowed to post here.

Yeah, it usually gets hung up for me on Always.dat

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Theodore Roosevelt (1918)

"The danger to political dissent is acute where the Government attempts to act under so vague a concept as the power to protect "domestic security." Given the difficulty of defining the domestic security interest, the danger of abuse in acting to protect that interest becomes apparent. --U.S. Supreme Court decision (407 U.S. 297 (1972)

The reason that your installer isn't installing properly is because of your impatience. Follow this, it'll get RenAlert working perfectly.

1st: Make sure you download v991 and all THREE patches; 9915, 992, 9925. You'll need to install them in sequence, of course. The most likely cause for the runtime 9 error, which I experienced as well, is because you haven't installed the 9925 patch.

2nd: When the installer gets hung on always.dat, DON'T DO ANYTHING. Always.dat is a HUGE file which takes even the fastest computers a few minutes to open. It'll take forever starting off, but once it gets going, usually after 3%, it'll get back to speed.

You don't need any patches or ect., the installers work just like they are supposed to. Hope this helps.

It's a 200mb file, it takes some time to update. Just let it run.

That runtime error is from not installing it properly. You must install all the patches in the correct order.

.991 > .9915 > .992 > .9925

All of those patches can be found on this page, and if you keep having problems post here.
