I don't believe I was referring to you or your paranoia, but if you want to accept responsibility for it publicly, more power to you.
Debating is an art form that does NOT use insults to stress a point. Debating is logical, and adresses valid points using proofs, and is usually backed by testimonials, and references to accepted literature in the intellectual community. It is also respectful of the counter-opinion, while still at odds with it.
Conditions that are definately not being met here. This is not a debate, it's a quasi-flame war, over an internet chick who posted someone else's picture.

It's not the paranoia that's the problem, it's the manic depression, suicidal nature and self induced psychological schizophrenia. As for admitting it publically, I'm just sick and tired of lying about who I am, so I decided to let on to everyone the truth, including random people on the internet I don't even know (I can be strange about these things).

The comment about debating was a joke, I'm fully aware that this is merely an argument. Also referencing other peoples work isn't a debate, it's just being to lazy/incompotent to back up your view point with your own theories. I can accept some usage of other literature, but far too often people rely on it as there only sorce of proof, this is leading to a decadent society.

Firstly where's your proof that that is not a picture of her, frankly whether it is or not was never an issue to me. All I'm concerned about with regards to her is the fact that she is trying to be civil, a trait that is too often lacking among members of this forum (myself included). My contention was with Deathgods actions, I take an extreme dislike to people who try to harm others, be it physically or emotionally. I admit that my initial tactic of attempting to drive him off with insults, be they intelectual or of the usual homophobic variety, was at best useless and at worse will have antagonised the situation. I am now however trying to understand the others viewpoint, beliefs and justifications, whilst still remaining at odds with them, this at least qualifies as a debate.

Referencing another acedemic's work in thier specialized field is not lazy. It takes true wisdom to realize there are others far more intelligent than oneself, and bow to thier superior knowledge in that arena. One must develop a prudent, and relevant theory based on certifiable and public knowledge bases. Not one's best guess based on what they think they have fully researched.
That being said: Yes, there is great merit in finding things out for oneself, yet the true wise man is the one who knows he is a fool. When debating I routinely reference scientific and political quotes, and data bases. I refute the idea that that somehow makes me an ignorami because I draw from those sources.
Decadence in our society is attributable to a great many things, but laziness is not the root. It's an effect, not a cause.

Like I said, referncing others work on occaision is prudent, but there are people who do it over much, from the sounds of things you are the formar not the latter and I commend you for that. To use on of my rare references I will pint to the works of Isaac Asimov, in the book "Foundation" there was a highly recognised and lauded Archeological Historian (Lord Dorwin), however he would have a nervous fit if some-one suggested that he actually research a historical site himself. To him the "proper scientific method [as I see it]" was to "weigh up what the greats of the past have said" and from there come to his own reasonable conclusion. He recognised greater minds but he did that to such an extent that he was incable of believing that he himself could create a new theory, this scientific decadance was the main cause of the stagnation and eventual collapse of the Galactic Empire. A similar them,e runs through David Brin's Uplift Trilogies with regards to the Library of the five galaxies.My previous attempt did not convey the point very well, hopefully this one will do better.
To add to this there are a great many scientists who have refused reference others in their field, instead they chose to research the subject themselves, whilst often this has been time consuming and fruitless there are times when this hasd proven a theory wrong, or at least incomplete. The biggest example of this in recent years is the advent of Quantum physics, whilst Einstinien law does make allowances for Quantum mechanics Newtonian law disagrees with it completely, we are now face with the fact that whilst we have based almost all of our technology on a science that appears to work it may be based upon a science that is wrong, this could lead to devatating consequences. However it is usefull to reference others, as long as it is done with prudence it speeds up the rate of advance without building upon unstable structurs (Newton).
Btw, I wholehaertedly agree with you on the subject of greater minds, with regard sto mathem,atics I am ranked within the top percentile in Britain and the top 12% in Europe, I also have a numerical I.Q somewhere in the region of 180. Through all this the most potent lesson I have learnt is just how little I actually know and how vast an amount there is to learn.
Oh, and laziness is both an effect and cause of decadance in society.
