EEK! GunRun, why didn’t you tell me about this topic?
Before I start, here’s to all you retards who have to revolt against some one just because their of a different religion: If you living like there is no god you better be right.
Any way, this is one of the few topics of don’t have much solid information on, mostly because no one does, here is my explanation:
I don’t want to go into this, but any one who is religious would know stories about super natural things within their religion; angels and resurrections are examples. Most current religions were formed by an angel telling a person something and in turn, that person spreading it around. I'll get back to this in a bit, after you read all of this it will come together.
A Very long time ago large pools of water (soon to be oceans) life appeared and evolved at an alarming rate. Scientists are still puzzled on how it got there but it just seemed to start. Earth could actually have been seeded by an advanced alien race, or as an experiment. Or the organic compounds just formed by themselves.
Now to the Mayans, there is strong evidence of their interaction with extraterrestrial life, or they were just really smart: A small stone model of an air plane was found in a temple that was thought to be sealed for thousands of years. If you fly over the desert there you will see huge "runways" in the ground, so big you wouldn’t notice it on the ground, just a small drop while walking. The Egyptians actually have records of activities that would be alien to us.
Now, on to the 2012 thing, it could very well be true. Now if you didn’t put it together already, what I’ve been saying is that God, or any other god for that matter, angels, and other things like that are aliens who have been watching over us for thousands of years. If you still think this is bullshit, there are documents, and other things showing the probable of existence of aliens who are observing us. Like a recording from an Apollo mission that described what an astronaut was seeing over on the other side of a creator. If any one remembers the story of , it was a city that was destroyed, and a man and his family were told they could leave before it was destroyed because they were the only good ones, but they could not turn around and look back or they would be turned into a pillar of salt, here is the scientific explanation: Aliens destroyed the city to show something, most likely what happens when your a bad little human, but the thing that makes the story special is the pillar of salt thing. Certain energies and materials mixed together are actually capital of turning some organic substances onto a salt compound. This would make a connection with a nuclear weapon, extremely advanced of course. The aliens did not want them to see what was going on, most likely to keep the man thinking it was god condemning the city. Then you have mosses, the top of mount Sinai or how ever you spell it, there was a storm going on, mosses might have been aboard a ship, being instructed on what to do. These are just accuracies were aliens tried to steer humans in a direction they wanted.
What I'm getting at is that is fully possible that it could happen, but when was the last time people were major steered by acts of god? A very long time ago. This could point to a cancellation of them showing us themselves, or postponement. They know that we will probably react with force other then try to learn about them.

Javaxcx, what? Anyway, I'll get the name of the theory and get a site on it, its the most popular theory on how the universe works.
Here's a picturefyed explanation, sorry for the other one cuz I wrote it up quick so some of you didn’t understand.
Ok, there’s a model similar to the one that was used when I learned it. Time is represented by purple to cyan. The whole model is not happening at once, only one at a time is going on and any given moment, plus all branches. The branch starts on the time line were the black hole formed and continues on until its disconnected when its mother universe collapses to an infinitely small size to form a new universe in a big bang process. The life of a universe is like this: (1) big bang, (2) expansion, (3) shrinkage, (4) compression, (5) big bang. The branches are formed from black holes sucking out material from one universe and dropping it off in a new one created on the time of the black hole creation. This plays a part in the multivers theory, were there are an infinite amount of universe (which are infinitely large) in an infinitely large space. Mind boggling if you think about it.
Finally, NastyDead, I'm not old, and I'm not forcing anything on you, there is no solid evidence and there never will be, if current physics holds true, we will never see anything to help us know if this is fact. These are merely popular and well supported theories. Although there is evidence of the big bang theory in our own universe. X-Ray, and UV ray photos have been taken of light still traveling to us from past occurrences. This can also tell us how the universe is infinitely large, by folding back on itself. This is true for a shape thingy with a certain name (I forgot) were if you were to walk forward, you would go on forever but really you would still be in the same space. I don’t want to go into this a lot cuz I don’t have hours to write it all out. You can look some stuff up online.

The only thing that model can describe is a theortical timeline of the universe, where the elipses represent one cycle of all the matter and energy in existence.
For starters, that's not the most popular theory about how the universe works. The one that is actually widely accepted (thanks to growing evidence) is an open universe theory where there has and will only be ONE cycle of the universe. After the theoretical big bang, matter will continue you expand outward for eternity until the also theoretical "heat death" of the universe. This assumes that the void that is space is an infinite distance OR infinate loop. Oh, and don't expect to draw an "infinate loop" diagram of the universe, because it cannot be done in 3 dimenions.
Secondly, for your theory to work, there is alot of theoretical physics that deduces how unlikely that actually is. For the universe to compress upon itself, the acceleration that matter is undergoing right now will have to be overtaken by a pull of gravity GREATER than the force of acceration forcing the universe outward as we speak. So essentially, gravity would have to have an exponentail effect greater to that of the exponential effect of acceleration, otherwise we're going to continue to fly outwards for eternity.
