Does the no-CD patch slow down the game at all? I've used both but didn't notice any difference. From what I could theorise, the no-CD patch accelerates the game through hard drive resources (if this is bs, please tell me) rather than use the CD to keep optimal performance speed of the game and leave your HD (hard drive) alone.

Also, I think it's only the red game CD that can play the movie FMV.

no, the only things renegade reads from its cds are the fmvs
