I have renegade on my laptop, and I'd also like to install it on my desktop, the question is, what do I need to do to make sure I don't invalidate my serial?

Invalidate? It's your serial.. do what you please with it. I have installed my Renegade on 2 PCs..

Each serial is good for logging into WOL twice. In fact, you could install it on like 50 PCs so long as only two were logged into WOL at the same time.
