I resently got this game and I have been runnign a server priddy much the day I got it caleld "Recoil's Readyroom" Some of you may have hurd of it. I have been running it almost 24/7 for well over a week.

I was wondering is it posable to swich a server fromn dedicated to none dedicated without closing it and restarting it?

Also how do you add a Lanquadge filter to the server?

The only way you are going to get a language filter it to have a Free Dedicated Server(FDS) with BlazeRegulator(BR) BR has alot of cool options, like auto kick for those that buy vehicles on a sniper only server, language filter and the ability to add game moderators(people that can moderate from inside the game). Iknow I left a lot out but that is some of the neat stuff abvout BR.

Hi Recoil436 & welcome to the Renegade forums ! I second what K9Trooper said BR seems to an extremely usefull program (I havent used it). Even if you are on your server all the time it would save on having to stop every so often to ban 'das-n00bs'. I'll be looking for your server online tonight.

I third what these guys have said you should get Blaze Regulator if you need any help go to the BR support foum here...

I will look for your server next time I play...

I do not belive you cna change from dedicated to just hosted without restarting the server. If you could do this it would probaby lag because you are then using some bandwidth for yourself in the game.

Technically there is NO language filter. All BR can offer is a warning and/or kick on language. But we can't prevent it from being shown at all. We were pretty close to getting the ability to do that but our contact with Westwood didn't have the time to implement it.

Note: BR only works with the Free Dedicated Server (FDS) which can be downloaded off the Westwood FTP (ftp://ftp.westwood.com/) -- navigate to Renegade...

You can't switch from dedicated to non-dedicated without stopping the server. If you find yourself wanting to play once in a while, you might consider running the server on another computer and playing on your main computer... that's how mine works.
